Year 2

Welcome to our site!

Month: June 2017

Active Nation

The PTFA kindly funded a trip for us to Clayton Green Leisure Centre, so that Year 2 could enjoy an Active Nation session.

We had lots of fun, especially on the bouncy castle!

Thank you, PTFA!

Robert Delaunay

We have learnt about the work of the French artist Robert Delaunay.

Delaunay enjoyed experimenting with warm and cool colours.  He created abstract art.

Step 1

We used a ruler to draw straight lines.  This created rectangles and triangles.

Step 2

We drew round a range of circular objects and created concentric circle patterns.

Step 3

We chose contrasting cool and warm coloured oil pastels and carefully filled adjacent sections.

Step 4

Our masterpieces are complete and ready to display at the Art Gallery on Tuesday 4th July!

Underwater Street

We have had a fabulous time…I think the photos say it all!

Thank you Mr McGregor for organising such a wonderful trip!

Well done, Year 2!

The tests are complete!  Year 2 have worked so hard to show off their skills!  On the final day of the half term, Mrs Bradley taught us how to use a range of different materials to create Sunflower Art.  This activity linked to all the Science work we have been completing about plants.

We’re already looking forward to the exciting events we have planned for our final half term:  a trip to Underwater Street, Sports Day, a trip to Active Nation, a Science Day and hosting our new Chinese friends when they come to stay for a week in July.

Then, it will be time to make the transition to Key Stage 2!
