Our Class Assembly

On Friday 3rd February, it’s Year 2’s Class Assembly. We will be sharing our learning and favourite memories from Year 2 so far. Each child has prepared their own writing to share and we’ve begun to rehearse in class.

Words have been sent home and we ask that you help your child to develop their confidence by practising together.

We hope you will be able to join us at 2:45pm this Friday to share our celebration of Year 2 achievements!

Thank you for your continued support.

Morris the Mankiest Monster

We are reading Morris the Mankiest Monster by Giles Andreae.

When Giles Andreae was at school, his best friend was David Cameron. Do you know who David Cameron is?  We do!

The story is written in verse, so we have been thinking about rhythm and rhyme.  We’re linking this to our  music sessions through learning about hip hop!

Morris the Mankiest Monster is illustrated by Sarah McIntyre.  We have been copying her drawing style and drawing our own versions of Morris.

Our new Geography topic!

Today we started our new topic, ‘What a Wonderful World’.

We looked at atlases and globes.

We started to learn about the seven continents:

  • South America
  • Europe
  • North America
  • Asia
  • Africa
  • Antarctica
  • Oceania/Australasia

We also started to learn about the five oceans:

  • Arctic Ocean
  • Indian Ocean
  • Southern Ocean
  • Pacific Ocean
  • Atlantic Ocean
