For our DT Topic learning this week, we have been tasting, analysing and evaluating a range of different dippers.
We used natural yogurt as our dip because its plain flavour really helped us to carefully compare the different dippers.
We sampled carrot sticks, bread sticks, pitta bread, crackers, cucumber sticks and tortilla chips.
The most popular dipper was tortilla chips.
All the children worked carefully and were willing to try the different foods on offer.
As Part of the ‘Into Film Festival’, Year 1 and 2 enjoyed free tickets to see Angry Birds at the Vue Cinema, Capitol Centre, Preston.
We had a brilliant time and the children behaved beautifully.
Each child also received a free Vue Cinema ticket to use in December.
We began our Food Technology learning with a tasting and evaluating activity.
We learnt about a variety of different dips from around the world. We found their countries of origin on a world map.
The children had an opportunity to sample the dips and used adjectives to describe their appearance, smell, texture and taste.
We gave the dips a mark out of ten and at the end of the lesson we completed a tally chart to discover which dip was most popular. Salsa was the clear winner.
Which of the following dips do you prefer?
