Olympic Projects

Lots of Year 2 children have been working extremely hard at home to complete their Olympic themed projects.  We shared them during a special Show and Tell session.

Teddy bear’s picnic

We had a lovely teddy bear’s picnic where we ate our yummy, healthy sandwiches, unfortunately not in the sunshine!

Healthy sandwich making!

We talked about different types of foods and the food groups that they belonged to, we then thought about healthy and unhealthy packed lunches.  On our healthy sandwich planning sheet we brainstormed what ingredients we might need to make a healthy sandwich.  We then tasted some different breads and fillings and evaluated them to plan our very own healthy sandwich.  The following week we made our sandwiches following our plans, we ate them at our teddy bear’s picnic and then evaluated what it was like, considering if we could have made it healthier and how we could improve it if we made it again.

On Wednesday 6th July, Year 2 and Year 5 enjoyed a fabulous trip to Llandudno in Wales .

Year 2 have been learning about the United Kingdom and Seaside Holidays in the Past, while Year 5 have been studying Alice in Wonderland and Victorians.

Luckily, the sun was shining for us and we went on the Great Orme Tramway to the summit of the Great Orme.

We enjoyed a picnic and played on the adventure playground.  After taking in the magnificent views, we went down to the promenade where we enjoyed a traditional Punch and Judy show with a delicious ice cream.
